Whatcom Sports & Recreation is proud to present the 28th Annual Whatcom FC Rangers Bellingham Baker Blast Tournament in Bellingham, Washington. This tournament focuses on bringing in boys’ and girls’ teams throughout the West and Canada to the Phillips 66 Soccer Park for some great soccer! The Baker Blast has a superb history of providing high level boys’ and girls’ competition with a great field of squads from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. A great opportunity to play against different competition. The Baker Blast has a reputation of being a well-organized, first class tournament with great referee crews.

CaptainU will provide online profiles and player profile books for college coaches
Since CaptainU was founded in 2008, over 2 million high school athletes have used their platform to promote themselves to college programs. Currently, over 3,000 athletes commit to colleges each month using CaptainU. Their networking platform provides players and parents a tool to manage the college recruiting process and maximize their exposure to college coaches at the upcoming tournament. Read More
Hopefully you wont need it, but if you are injured the 2019 Bellingham Baker Blast, you need not worry as we have a great sports medicine staff available at Phillips 66 Soccer Park to tend to possible injuries you may have sustained during your matches. The sports medicine tent will be located in the middle of Phillips 66 Soccer Park and can be identified by the first aid flag that will be flying.
Tournament Location: Phillips 66 Soccer Park, 5238 Northwest Drive, Bellingham WA and Ferndale High School in Ferndale.
Phillips 66 Soccer Park is one of the finest soccer complexes in the Northwest, featuring a fully equipped concession building and restroom facility, two lighted Field Turf fields and 31 acres of lush green grass, and a breathtaking view of Mt. Baker. The Phillips 66 Soccer Park is located in Northwest Washington State, just 10 minutes from downtown Bellingham and 20 minutes from the Canadian boarder. This region offers spectacular sightseeing opportunities from the mountains to the sea. Hotels, shopping and entertainment are only minutes away.

- Complete the online registration-registration link above.
- Please pay using check, money order or cashier’s check in US Funds or pay on-line with a credit card. If paying by check please make sure to include your online registration number on your check and payable to Whatcom Sports & Recreation.
- Mail in payment no later than by June 9, 2021 to Bellingham Baker Blast Tournament, 1225 Civic Field Way, Bellingham, WA 98229. Please note that the tournament, at a particular age group, may fill up prior to the deadline date and we cannot guarantee acceptance the closer to the deadline of June 11.
- Application is not complete until payment is received at the tournament office.
- Upon receiving your application, the WSR staff will send an e-mail notifying you we have received your squad’s application.
Out of Washington state teams are required to obtain appropriate travel papers from state or provincial association.
PLEASE NOTE: All players are required to be in concussion compliance per Washington State Law. If you are an Washington team, your final roster must reflect concussion compliance. If your squad is from outside of Washington, you must have a signed copy of the Concussion Compliance Informed Consent form for each player available for review at check-in. A completed on-line application form along with the entry fee and tentative team roster must be completed no later than June 8 2018. We will continue to accept applications after the deadline date if there is space available, otherwise your check will be returned and you will be placed on a waiting list.
Team Selection: The Baker Blast is a select/premier level tournament accepting teams on a “first completed registration, first serve” basis. Please be advised that certain divisions may fill up prior to the deadline date. You are not considered registered until your online registration is complete and payment is received at the tournament office or payment via credit card online.
Format: Teams will play in a four team matrix whenever possible and be guaranteed at least three games. U9- U12 will play 50 minute matches (25 minute halves) and U13-19 will play 60 (30 minute halves) minute matches. U9 & U10 will play 7 v 7 on a 30 yd x 50 yd field. U 11 & U12 teams will play 9 a-side on a 50 yd x 90 yd field. U13-19 will play 11 a-side on full size fields. Where applicable we will attempt to have two divisions PREMIER (upper level) and COPA (lower level) to provide appropriate levels of competition. The U18/19 will be a combined age group. We reserve the right to combine or modify age divisions should the need arise to balance competition.

Awards: 1st and 2nd place winners in each division will receive individual awards and one team award. All rostered players and coaches will receive tournament memento.
Entry Fee: U9 -U10 – $425.00 per squad, U11 – U12 $525.00 per squad, U13-19 $625.00 Checks or money orders should be made payable to “WSR” (Whatcom Sports & Recreation). You may also choose to pay online with a credit card. Entry fee acceptance made after June 8, 2017 will be on a as team need basis. Applications will not be accepted without fees.
Acceptance: You will receive an e-mail notice of your squads acceptance.
Schedules: We anticipate preliminary schedules to be mailed out to you no later than June 17, 2018. We will attempt to accommodate all requests for late games on Friday. However, this is not always possible. Please be prepared to play an early game on Friday as early as 2:40 PM. All teams will be scheduled to play one game on Friday and two games on Saturday. NO EXCEPTIONS. Semifinal and finals will be played on Sunday.
Withdrawing from the Tournament: After June 7, 2019, teams wishing to withdraw from the tournament must notify us in writing. There will be no refunds issued for teams withdrawing after June 8. Prior to June 8, teams wishing to withdraw must notify us in writing; refunds will be issued less a $35.00 handling fee.
